Dom Tancock, Sales Director at Glide, debunks the myths.
Are leaflets still relevant today?
Yes, absolutely! You only have to look at the amount of leaflets being picked up from our stands or ordered by information points and accommodation providers to see that consumers still like to have something tangible in their hands when gathering information and inspiration.
In fact, leisurely browsing leaflets becomes part of the holiday experience! In an age where people want to escape their day-to-day stresses and swap screen time for quality time, we know that families enjoy picking a selection of leaflets from the rack and discussing what do whilst on holiday.
Of course, leaflets and digital marketing work together for best results - we have a mix of digital and physical services to support this.
Can you demonstrate that leaflets work?
We can indeed demonstrate this. Using our data analytic reporting we can show clients in their review meetings how effective the leaflet has been for them. We can quantify pick-up rates, hot spots and best performing racks and regions. Clients also use codes to track and measure their return on investment. And many continue to book repeat campaigns due to the effectiveness of print.
Are leaflets just used for a scatter gun approach to marketing?
Not on our watch! In days gone by leaflets were often placed in as many venues as possible with little thought to the audience or area. But we run a much more considered approach to print marketing. We know that leaflets and brochures are not cheap to produce; we offer segmented and audience focused networks so clients reach who they want and where they want with sensible volumes of print. Making it a cost effective way to attract customers.
